John Luxury and the Ice Giants

The band is a group of friends who have played together for eight years.We had our own club from 2000-2006,"The Leonide Lounge" in Downtown L.A. where we pioneered what I feel was a fresh synthesis of R&B,heavy-metal,soul,rockabilly and country.We usually were the main attraction at our shows,which also featured jazz artists,beat artists,rap artists, and gospel. The confidence of the band is amazing,but that`s just because we`ve all played with great people and listened to great people.It came close to maxing right before the great split in 2007 when the Leonide folded.I could close my eyes and it seemed for a moment we were the Rascals playing on the boardwalk at Atlantic City!Really tight and soulful and really powerful.We`d just finished a session with a major producer at a major studio in Hollywood -major executives in Europe were throwing deals at us and at that time,I didn`t figure anything could stop us.That`s when someone came downstairs and told us we were playing too loud! There seems to be a silver lining because we`re now in the process of recording some of our later material,which was different and I liked a lot.I believe the new video,also,will show what we can do live.I`m just trying to be true to this whole thing and to all our people who put in a lot of work. I would also add that our Christian faith has been a major element in our music.It is the sole reason for the new single and video.
