Flotones – It’s your music, It’s your image, It’s YOU!

Remember, Flotones is the only ringtone and mobile content web site that actually promotes the Artist.  You get a Flotones Web Page that contains all of your mobile content, along with your bio and a link to your official web site.  Allowing you to up sell your albums, songs and gear.

 

Flotones – the Agreement

The Big Picture

  • You keep all rights to the music, artwork and mobile content
  • You allow us to modify or use modified music and artwork to sell to customers, thru Flotones and other mobile media distributors (such as CD Baby, Napster, MP3Tunes, Jamster, etc)
  • You get paid for content downloaded, excluding transaction costs and commissions
 
The Content
  • You keep all rights to the music, artwork and mobile content
  • You are responsible for payment of royalties to the Rights Holders for content you provide to Flotones, in events where you aren’t the Rights Holder.
  • There is no limit to the number of ringtones or wallpapers per song or album.
    • However, please understand that frequent changes or posting of content to your Flotones Web Page, could result a delay in making it available to customers.
    • We are working on tools to allow you to make unlimited changes to your site, which would eliminate those delays.
 
The Dollars
  • NO COST!
    • There is NO setup, hidden or future fees. 
  • You get paid forever, or as long as we can find you.
    • Once you provide us content and it continues to be published on our site, you will continue to receive payment for items sold.  Even after you’ve terminated the agreement.
  • The Payouts will vary depending upon the distribution method and reaching the minimum payout value.
    • Affiliates will get on average a 12% payout, excluding transaction costs and commissions.
    • Artists and Labels will get on average a 50% payout, excluding transaction costs and commissions.
  • The minimum payout value
    • If you don’t reach that value then we’ll carry over your payout until it’s reached and pay you as soon as you reach or exceed the minimum.
    • You can view your payout values by looking at your Account Admin Pages.   
  • For those getting a payout, you’ll be paid monthly.

 

The Non Exclusiveness

  • It’s a Non Exclusive agreement
  • You can continue to partner with other mobile media distributors, allowing them to distribute your content as well.
  • The only exception is with the content on our servers.
    • Since we need to have actual content on our servers, we aren’t willing to allow another distribution company access to those actual files.
    • However, you have the right to download those files and provide them to the other distributor.  We just don’t want to allow the other distributor to work with us directly.

 

Flotones – From Sign Up to Payout

The clerical work

  • Sign the Agreement
    • You need to sign the agreement and fax it to Flotones or give it to one of our Representatives.
    • You can also, go to our Artist Sign Up page and sign up online and approve our Agreement digitally.
  • Provide Payment method
    • If you want to get paid, you’ll need to let us know where and how to send the money.
    • You can fill out the Payment Form and fax it to Flotones or give it to one of our Representatives.
    • You can also, go to our Artist Sign Up page and fill out the form online.

Get us the Content

  • There are multiple methods to get Flotones your content.
    • via Email, via the Web, etc.
    • You can see the entire list of options by visiting your Flotones Account Admin pages.
    • We’ve created many Artist Tools to help make it as easy and painless as possible.
  • If we don’t get your content after you’ve signed up, then we’ll hunt you down and stalk you until you comply to our demands.
    • Or if you prefer, we’ll politely get in touch with the contact you provided.

Flotones Page Creation
  • Once we get your content, either you or Flotones needs to create your Flotones page.
    • There are tools available to allow you to upload your mobile content, enter your bio, official web link, etc and create your Flotones page.
      • The tools are available at your Account Admin Page.
    • If you’re too busy and cool to do that, then Flotones will do it for you.  Just let us know.
  • If you ask us or we create your Flotones page, there could be up to a month long delay.  It’ll depend upon backlog of existing requests. 
  • If you decided to create your Flotones page, then it’ll take less time and become active once it’s validated by Flotones.

Artist Tools

  • Flotones is focused on the Artist, because of that we’ve created Artist Tools.  These will allow you to do the following…
    • Create Handbills to promote your ringtones at your concert or event
    • Create html links to put on to your Official Site, allowing fans to buy mobile content on YOUR site.
    • Review your content sold and expected payout.
    • Review the names, emails, phone numbers of people who purchased your mobile content – killer for event promotion.
  • There isn’t enough space to explain in detail the value each of the tools add, but all are accessible via your Account Admin page.

Promote your Flotones page

  • Flotones will promote the entire Flotones.com site by…
    • registering it with search engines
    • getting setup on Carrier (Cingular, Sprint, etc) portals
    • industry web sites, magazines, tv, etc
    • major concerts, events and much more
  • You should also promote your individual Flotones page by…
    • creating links on your Official or Fan web sites
    • at concerts using our Handbill Tool
    • tattooing Flotones on your most attractive body part

Let the Money Roll In

  • You’ve promoted your site over the past few concerts and are starting to hear your ringtones all over the city.  It’s not time to get paid!
    • (you’ve also gotten Flotones the Payment Form)
  • As the transaction processing companies pay us, they deliver a detail on each transaction. 
    • We’ll parse the data and provide you with details on each transaction.  They will be posted to your Accounts Admin Page.
  • Once you get over the minimum payout, you should see an email statement with the amount paid and depending upon your payment method either a check or deposit in your paypal or bank account.
It’s that simple!
 
 
Flotones – Other Important Details
 
The wonderful world of Royalties and Rights
  • You must have the proper rights or authority for the content provided to Flotones.
  • If you don’t, you should obtain written permission from those that do. 
  • Flotones is not checking rights to content provided to us, it’s up to YOU to pay proper royalties to the actual Rights Holder.
  • We are against publishing and distributing cover songs, unless we are assured by the Artist performing the cover song that they are actively paying the rights holder.
